Day 1- Set out for Pietrele Cabin from the city (there is mutual consent regarding the city from where you will be picked up) via Pietrele Valley.

Day 2 – Ascend to Retezat Peak, reaching the main ridge of the massif by covering the ground of Lolaia Ridge. It is a trudging area of the touristic route, just before the Retezat Peak, where your mountaineering skills will be tested and will pump your adrenaline throughout the trek. You will eventually reach Bucura I Peak and then the Curmatura Bucurii Ravine, from where you will descend to Pietrele Valley towards Pietrele Cabin.

Ascension will begin via Galesu Valley, whose upstream is Galesu Lake. The route continues with the possibility of reaching Mare Peak (2463 m). This area’s scenery reveals the entire Galesu glacier cauldron.
